The story about the dog bowls

How to choose the correct bowl for a dog

Finding a proper bowl for a dog seem like an easy task

Simplest way is to go to pet shop and pick the first one that, more or less matches size of the dog itself. This approach is led by a rule small dog – small bowl, big dog – big bowl.

Doing that is not the best solution as choosing a correct bowl is also determined by other than dog size and the bowl will be used for some time. Besides dogs size other factors that are important while choosing the bowl are size of dogs mouth, length of ears and its temperament. Dogs with a lot of energy will require more massive bowls with anti-slip bottom. The main function of bowl is to store a portion of dog food adequate for one meal. That’s why bowl size is determined by a dogs size. But choosing the right bowl depend not only on the pet size. Wrongly chosen bowl can annoy the dog owner, or the bowl user, or both.

Steel bowl looks like a good material for a dog bowl and those are the most common bowls. There are also a plastic or ceramic bowls on the market. Choosing a plastic bowl can be a very temporary solution as those are very light and delicate so can be easily chewed on, ending in dogs intestines and trash very quickly. Plastic bowls have one incontestable advantage which is the price. Buying plastic bowl is a good idea when we don’t know if the size its size will fit the amount of dog food serving. Ceramic bowls can be expensive and are easy to break. Broken ceramic bowl should be disposed of immediately.
